647 Chair Foot Control / Touch Pads Test and Repair
The foot control cord connector is keyed and must be oriented properly to connect. Tighten locking ring to secure connection.
If function(s) are inoperable from the foot control.
1.Secure the foot control cord connection at the cord inlet.
2.Secure inlet harness connection to main PC board, J10.
3.If function(s) still inoperable, Perform the Foot Control / Touch Pad Test.
If function(s) are inoperable from one touch pad.
1.Secure connection from inoperable touch pad to touch pad harness.
2.If function(s) still inoperable, perform the Foot Control / Touch Pad Test.
If function(s) are inoperable from both touch pads.
1.Secure connections from touch pads to touch pad harness.
2.Secure connection from touch pad harness to extension harness.
3.Secure extension harness connection to PC board, J9.
4.If function(s) still inoperable, perform the Foot Control / Touch Pad Test.
Foot Control Touch Pad Test
1.Move both switches on the Mode Select block to ON.
2.Unplug chair to reset the PC board. Then, plug the chair back in.
3.One at a time, press and hold each button on the foot control / touch pad. Do you hear beeps each time a button is pressed? If YES, then that button is functioning properly. If NO, then perform the appropriate Control Cord Test.

Test the Foot Control Cord
1.Disconnect the foot control cord.
2. Place meter probe on pin #1 of round connector the other meter probe on pin #1 of flat connector.
3.Check meter reading.
4.Repeat for remaining pins.
Test the Inlet Harness
1.Disconnect the inlet harness from J10 on main PC board.
2. Place meter probe on pin #1 of round connector the other meter probe on pin #1 of flat connector.
3.Check meter reading.
4.Repeat for remaining pins
Touch Pad Harness / Extension Harness Test

Test the Touch Pad Harness
1.Disconnect wire harness from touch pads and extension harness.
The connection to the extension harness is located under the seat section.
2.Place one meter probe on any wire color at harness connector and the other meter probe on the corresponding wire color at the opposite connector.
3.Check meter reading.
4.Repeat for each wire color.
Test the Extension Harness
1.Disconnect extension harness from main PC board and touch pad harness.
The connection to the touch pad harness is located under the seat section.
2.Place one meter probe on any wire color at harness connector and the other meter probe on the corresponding wire color at the opposite connector.
3.Check meter reading.
4.Repeat for each wire color.
