Ground Monitor Test for Midmark® Products with an internal isolation transformer
Model Range 224, 225, 626, 627, 230, 630, 625, 641, and 647
A Standard Outlet Tester is used to measure the ability of an earth ground system.
The Isolation Transformer design complies with the 16.9.2.1-a section of the 60601-1 medical safety standard for medical electrical equipment.
Perform Ground Monitor Test
1.Plug Standard Outlet Tester into outlet on Midmark chair / table.
2.On models with an integrated Isolation Transformer the center light will illuminate indicating an open ground. This reading is correct for these products.
3.On other models that do not have an integrated Isolation Transformer the center and right lights should illuminate indicating correct wiring.
Products with an Isolation Transformer have the circuit board grounded within the table (chassis ground) while outlets are grounded separately resulting in a ‘open ground’ reading using a standard outlet tester. Power from the outlet will not conduct to earth ground, so there is no potential for electrical shock if a patient or operator is grounded.
