Capacitor Motor Pump
Removal
1.Rotate seat to one side.
Unplug chair power cord before removing covers or working on chair. Failure to comply could result in personal injury.
2.Unplug chair power cord.
3.Remove hydraulic cover, see Covers.
Before touching capacitor terminals discharge capacitor. Using an insulated handle screwdriver, jumper across terminals. Failure to comply could result in personal injury.
4.Discharge capacitor, Item 1.
5.Tag and disconnect electrical leads, Item 2.
The capacitor may be of cylindrical shape (earlier units) and secured with a bracket. It could also be rectangular shape held in place with one mounting screw.
6.Loosen mounting bracket, Item 3, or mounting screw and remove capacitor, Item 1.
Installation
Assure new capacitor is of correct microfarad and voltage rating as required in electrical schematic of chair. Refer to: Electrical Components.
1.Insert capacitor, Item 1, in mounting bracket, Item 3, and tighten bracket or tighten mounting screw.
2.Connect electrical leads, Item 2.
3.Install hydraulic cover, plug chair into outlet, and check operation.
