Filling Mode
The fill valve is energized. This causes the valve to open, allowing water to flow into the chamber.
When the water in the chamber contacts the water level sensor, power is removed from the Fill valve. This allows the valve to close, stopping the flow of water into the chamber.
Heating/Sterilizing/Venting/Drying Modes
The fill valve is not energized. The valve is closed.

Filling Mode
The (normally open) vent valve is energized. This causes the valve to close, preventing water from flowing back into the reservoir.
Heating/Sterilizing Mode
The vent valve is energized. This causes the valve to close so that pressure can build in the chamber.
Venting Mode
The vent valve is not energized throughout the entire Venting process, allowing steam and water to pass through to the condensing coil.
Drying Mode
The vent valve is not energized. The valve is open.
