Midmark M9® -05x / M11® -05x Sterilizer Pressure Relief Valve Location Test and Repair

The pressure relief valve opens if the pressure inside the chamber reaches 290kPa (43 psi). When the valve opens, pressurized steam is released from the bottom of the sterilizer through the relief valve tubing.

The valve can be opened manually by pulling the pressure relief handle located on the top cover.

The screen display will remind a user every six months that the pressure relief valve test should be performed.

1.When prompted on the screen display, pull upward firmly on the pressure relief lever for three seconds; then release.
Steam should discharge freely from beneath rear of unit when lever is pulled.

2.If the valve does not close completely when lever is released, pull lever again and release quickly so that it snaps closed. Repeat until valve re-seats properly.

Equipment Alert

If excessive force is required to open the pressure relief valve or the valve will not reseat properly, contact your local supplier/technician to order a replacement pressure relief valve.
