Midmark M9® -05x / M11® -05x Sterilizer Door Motor System Theory of Operation
To prevent risk of shock always disconnect power before removing covers or performing any service procedure.
Some procedures require power to be connected with covers removed. Line voltage is present. Use extreme caution to prevent electric shock.
The illustration below calls out the components that affect the Door Motor system. Refer to the dropdowns for detailed descriptions.

The Door Motor System automatically opens the sterilizer door when the Venting mode is complete.
12 VDC is supplied to the door motor. This causes the motor to run, rotating the cam and linkage lifting the door latch mechanism and opening the door to the dry position. When the cam reaches its original position, the hall effect sensor stops the motor.
During Power Up mode, if the hall effect sensor detects the door magnet, no action is taken. Otherwise, the door motor will travel up to one full revolution until the hall effect sensor detects the door magnet.
The door motor will remain energized until the door latch bar is in the correct position. If the hall effect sensor has not detected the door magnet within 30 seconds, an error will be generated.
The status of the (normally open) door switch reflects the position of the door (e.g., Door Open= switch open).
