Elevance® Delivery Handpiece Actuators, Arm Tension and E-Field Sensors Test and Repair

Continental and Standard Delivery Units

Each smart handpiece has an actuator assembly with an optical sensor that detects whether the handpiece is at rest or is pulled.

Actuator assemblies are oriented differently on the Continental-Style Unit and the optical sensor operates through a wire linkage as handpieces are pulled. The wiring and tubing connections are the same as on the standard unit.

E-field sensors are present at each of the break release touch indentations. They signal the software that the sensor is closed. Refer to: ICM

Tension on the Continental-Style Unit arms can be adjusted with an Allen wrench as shown below. Remove the metal cover for better access to the adjustment.
