PowerVac G Troubleshooting Chart

When working on Twin units, unplug parallel harness.

Check on/off switch on front of the base.

Verify on/off switch is in the on postion.

Check disconnect box/ main circuit breaker.

Verify disconnect box/main circuit breaker is in the on postion.

Low Voltage Harness disconnected/loose.

Check door limit switch, on/off switch, and master control panel harness.

Secure/Replace harness connections.

Faulty Switch

Check LED light “D4”, if “ON” only check Low Voltage. If LED light is not on, preform checks on Door Limit switch, On/Off switch, and master control panel. Refer to: PC Board to check LED light, Door Limit Switch, On/Off Switch,and Master Control Panel.

Replace Switch

Separator tank not draining.

Possible Clog in tank. Remove lid to see if tank is full.

Remove clog.

Check valve is stuck closed. Refer to: Check valve.

Repair/ Replace check valve

Turn power off and unplug float harness from base unit. Turn unit back on. If the unit runs, check Float

Replace Float Assembly

Wire harness between VFD and PC board loose or broken.

Check for loose or broken wire harness between VFD and PC board. Ensure grey cable is plugged into VFD and PC board.

Secure/Replace harness connections.

Pump is locked up.

Feel for pump pulley drag or sticking. Refer to: Pump.

PC board Malfunctioning.

Turn main power supply on. Keep unit turned off. Unplug wire harness from J6 on PC board. Test resistance. Set meter to Ω. Meter Reading > 1 Ω, Refer to: PC Board

Replace Main PC Board

Check Daughter Card. Refer to: Daughter Card

Replace Main PC Board

Contactor not working properly.

Check Contactor. Refer to: Contactor

Replace Contactor.

VFD not working properly.

Check if there is an error code displayed. Refer to: VFD Error Code Chart

Follow required actions in testing.

Lights not working on PC board, check Fuse. Refer to: Fuse and Transformer.

Replace Fuse

Lights not working on VFD, check Line Filter. Refer to: Line Filter

Secure/Replace harness connections.

Lights not working on VFD, check Contactor. Refer to: Contactor

Replace Contactor

Lights not working on PC board, check transformer. Refer to: Fuse and Transformer

Replace Transformer

Lights not working on VFD. Check Ohms at J6 terminal. If greater than 5 ohm, Refer to: PC Board

Replace PC Board

Lights not working on VFD. Disconnect drive harness at J6 Location to check for 24 VDC. If Voltage is not present, Ohm out drive harness. Refer to: VFD Test.

Replace Drive Harness

Lights not working on VFD. Check for line Voltage (208-230V) at incoming terminal strip on VFD. If Line voltage is present, Refer to: Variable Frequency Drive

Replace VFD

Motor bad.

Perform all motor checks. Refer to: Motor and Pump

Suds from ultrasonic cleaner getting into pump.

Suction line close to ultrasonic. Inquire with staff.

Release pump, advise customer not to use product to drain ultrasonic cleaner.

Timer Kit not installed properly.

Installation of kit.

Release pump, correct or install timer kit.

Timer kit faulty

Check dip switch location on timer board. Dip switches are to be in down position or timer is malfunctioning.

Release pump, repair, replace timer kit.

No power to timer kit.

If power is being turned off to vacuum system. Vacuum system must be powered for timer to function correctly.

Release pump, continual power needed for timer kit.

Exhaust Hose Clogged

Remove exhaust hose to see if suction increases. If suction increased, check for clog.

Check ambient temperature in the room. Temperature should be 40° to 104° F or 4° to 40° C

Contact a certified specialist to adjust temperature.

Check Clearance around unit. Allow 12 inches on the front and right side and allow 6 inches on the left side and back

Adjust base unit to clearance specifications.

Check if fans are working. Refer to: Fans

Replace fans

Minor Oil leak

Minimal oil leakage may occur with no harm to the vacuum. Refer to the oil sight glass fill level requirements.

Monitor oil levels and fill as needed. Replace absorbent pad if required.
